Sony Ericsson is getting ready for a global launch of G705. This 3G slider is a powerhouse with a 2.4 inch display with automatic screen rotation which allows switching from portrait to landscape with just a tilt of the phone. It sports an inbuilt aGPS with Google Maps for Mobile and wayfinder, is WiFi and DLNA certified, has a 128MB internal memory, Memory Stick Micro(M2) card slot, built in FM radio, RSS reader, and has a Google shortcut key.

It also features a 3.2mp camera with Photo fix and geotagging support wherein you can snap and share your favourite images via Bluetooth A2DP. It can upload video directly to YouTube courtesy Google and also download favourite clips.

Sony Ericsson is also planning to launch its UMA variant - G705i, a dual mode phone that switches between WiFi and GSM networks, built exclusively for Orange. We Asians wil not be seeing this baby’s face and we already feel sad about it.

The G705 and G705i support GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSDPA 2100. G705 will be available in select markets from early Q4 in Silky Gold or Majestic Black and G705i will be available in the color Luminous Black.

The G705 US version supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSUPA 850/1900/2100 and will be available in the Us market early Q1 2009.
