India is all set to create a record of sorts by coming up with the world’s cheapest laptop which would be available for just $10.
D. Purandeswari, the Minister of State for Human Resource Development made this announcement during the e-Indian Annual Summit of Information and Communications Technologies.

Sony Ericsson on Thursday launched R300 Radio phone in India. The phone is Sony Ericsson’s first made in India Radio phone. The phone is expected to draw the entry-level buyers in small towns.

Nokia 6300i
Nokia 6300i is the latest mobile to hit the markets in Q2 2008. The phone runs on the S40 Software platform.
THE 6300i has a 2 inch TFT QVGA screen with 320 x 240 pixels resolution supporting 16.7 million colors. Other features include a 2 Mega pixel camera with 8X Digital zoom and video recording facility, a Wi-Fi, VOIP functionality which helps in making calls easier and Music Player (MP3, AAC, AAC+, AAC++ and WMA).

Palm Centro
Palm Centro Smart Phone will now be available in a new color version of Onyx Black. This is in addition to the Glacier White which is already available in the market. The Palm Centro is being made available through Ingram, the national distributors of the product in India.
Palm Centro comes with a 2.2 inch touch screen with 320 x 320 pixels resolution, a QWERTY keypad, conference calling, one-touch speaker phone activation, digital camera with video recording and Pocket Tunes. The other features include Blue tooth Wireless connectivity, E mail functions which include Microsoft Direct Push Technology among other things.
The Palm Centro in its new color version will be available for Rs.13,900 (inclusive of taxes) in most of the metros and other major cities across India.
Samsung Innov 8
Samsung i8510 is now officially being released as Samsung Innov 8. The high-end handset runs on Symbian S60, 3rd edition and it is the first S60 Smart phone to have a 8 Mega pixel camera. The phone is being launched in two versions of 8GB and 16GB.
The high-end smart phone boasts of a 8 Mega pixel camera with auto focus, LED flash, image stabilizer, geotagging, face and smile recognition, auto panorama mode and video recording.
