For those who have not heard of it yet, the phone has a high resolution, is touch-sensitive, has a 3.2-inch WQVGA LCD screen that uses intuitive tap, sweep, drag and drop operations and also has an on-screen QWERTY keyboard.
It has Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system that enables users to download additional programs as they would on their PC and customize it for their individual needs. It has an optical mouse which might just seem too familiar to the laptop users.

The S3600 is Samsung’s new clamshell model. It doesn’t have an external display, like most of the similarly designed phones, but sports an impressive 2.2 inches of internal display having 176 x 220 pixel resolution. The metallic body sports an impressive look and keypad is ergonomic.
Other features of the phone include a media player and an integrated FM radio player, which supports RDS as well. For external memory, there is the microSD, which seems to have become the new norm for mobile storage.
Connectivity wise, it has Bluetooth, GPRS and EDGE support. It comes equipped with an 1.3MP camera which also allows video recording. Samsung has added ‘Mobile Tracker’ feature to this handset, using which you can save the confidential data in case there is a loss of theft of mobile unit. Up to 2GB of memory can be extended. Time synchronization feature is also incorporated.
Pricing is just adequate considering the provided features, and this phone is targeted at the budget segment. Its attractive design and numerous features only enhance the overall appeal. The lack of external display can be of some concern for some of the users, as most of the clamshell models do have one. Presently, there is no official announcement on the release date.

This phone, on first glace, makes a good impression. With its slim form factor and 3.2inch display, one is ensured of effortless usability. The only thing which goes against it is the overly thick stylus which looks more like an eye-liner! A separate sensor for optical mouse is provided though. The phone doesn’t have a swap slot for microSD but the provision of 8GB (or 16GB) tries to compensate for it.
Powered by Windows Mobile OS v6.1, this handset is quite powerful. The screen is not comfortably readable in direct sunlight though. The accelerometer performs smoothly and its sensitivity can be controlled. You can navigate the menus with either finger touch, or optical mouse of stylus. Finger-touch is the preferred way to go as the large screen makes operating the menus quite an experience. The menus are totally customizable as well. A secondary media player called ‘Touch Player’ is also incorporated besides the standard Windows Media Player, as well as there is an alternative image viewer program. The onscreen touch-keypad seems to occupy too much space though. The video performance is smooth and the phone supports DivX and XviD formats.
Connectivity wise, it has support for 3G, EDGE and GPRS. Since it is a business phone, features like MSOffice file support, pdf and rss reader functionalities are very well supported. The 5MP camera provides good image quality. The battery life could be used for improvement though.
