Blackberry has added yet another feather to its cap - The BOLD. RIM announced the launching of this smart phone which has already got carriers competing with each other.

The BOLD comes with a wealth of functionalities.It’s the first Blackberry phone to support tri-band HSDPA networks, with integrated GPS, Wi-Fi and a new full-QWERTY keyboard.Here’s a picture of the phone.

It comes with a 1GB internal storage memory and a microSD/SDHC expansion memory slot and a 624 MHZ processor.All this ensures good storage capacity and speedier work(business). Bold’s half-VGA(480×320 resolution) color LCD screen makes it the first high resolution display screen introduced on a Blackberry smart phone. It also features a 2MP camera with video recording capability, built in flash and a digital zoom. The media player which comes along keeps entertainment on the go - displays pictures and slideshows, plays moview in full screen mode and manages an entire music collection.

With the Blackberry’s enterprise solution one can stay connected while exchanging emails or accessing the web.Blackberry BOLD smart phone also allows users to download Word, Excel, PowerPoint files which can be saved to the handset and edited too
All these features make it an effective workstation away from home.

It also supports different language groups through its different configurations - AZERTY and QWERTZ.

The smart phone comes along with accessories including a stereo headset, travel charger, carrying case or sleeve, and USB cable. Users will also be able to personalize their BlackBerry Bold smart phone by purchasing replaceable leather-like back-plates that come in a range of colors. According to RIM, the removable/rechargeable 1500 mAhr battery provides multi-hour usage with a target talk time of approximately 5 hours and 13 days standby time.

Heard:- MicroSD/SDHC memory cards are available today in configurations of up to 8GB and the BlackBerry Bold is expected to support upcoming 16GB microSD/SDHC cards.

Palm Centro Smart Phone will now be available in a new color version of Onyx Black.  This is in addition to the Glacier White which is already available in the market.  The Palm Centro is being made available through Ingram, the national distributors of the product in India.

Palm Centro comes with a 2.2 inch touch screen with 320 x 320 pixels resolution, a QWERTY keypad, conference calling, one-touch speaker phone activation, digital camera with video recording and Pocket Tunes.  The other features include Blue tooth Wireless connectivity, E mail functions which include Microsoft Direct Push Technology among other things.

The Palm Centro in its new color version will be available for Rs.13,900 (inclusive of taxes) in most of the metros and other major cities across India.

BlackBerry Curve 8330 is now available in its World Edition through Reliance Communications in India. The Smart phone in candy-bar form is “feature-rich” and is being presented in a sleek silver case.

The Curve 8330 is a high-end phone which has RIM’s intuitive trackball navigation system, a full QWERTY key pad, advanced e mail and Web capabilities, enhanced desk-top media manager software, Voice Activated Dialing, speaker phone, noise and echo cancellation technology among its many features.

The Curve 8330 has a TFT display with 320 x 240 pixels resolution, MMS capabilities, media player, a 2Mega pixel camera with flash, digital zoom and video recording. Apple iphone 3G, the high-end smart phone from Apple is generating the same enthusiasm that was seen in other countries during its release there. The iphone 3G is being released through Bharti Airtel and Vodafone, two of India’s largest carriers. Though it is slated for release later in the year, the bookings for the iphone 3G have already started.

Apple is known to come up with better products every time, so the expectations are always very high and this time too, the latest Apple iphone 3G does not disappoint.

If you are of the opinion that bigger is better, then Apple iphone 3G is sure to impress you, as it is bigger than the First Generation iphone but it continues to retain the slim look. It has more rounded corners making it look more elegant than the First Generation Handset.

The iphone 3G comes with a HSDPA connectivity and iphone 2.0 software that supports AppStore and Microsoft Exchange Mail.

It comes with an in-built GPS receiver, a 3.5 inch touch-screen with multi-touch support and a 2 Mega pixel camera among its many features. The iphone 3G measures 115.5 x 6.2 x 12.3 mm and weighs 133 gms.

In the 23 countries that it has been released on July 11th, it is being made available in two color versions of white and black.
